Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information SeeMyGig collects, why we collect it, how we use it and the choices you have. We use plain Australian English wherever we can.
Version 1.0 · Effective 10 August 2026
How we handle your data
We use your data to:
- operate SeeMyGig
- personalise gig discovery
- manage profiles and events
- deliver notifications
- award Gig Points
- prevent abuse
- improve the platform
SeeMyGig does not sell personal information to advertisers. We do not publicly display a user's precise personal location.
What information we collect
- Account information — name or display name, email address, password (stored hashed), and optional phone number.
- Fan profile data — display name, avatar, genres, preferred nights, saved and followed profiles, notification preferences.
- Creator profile data — band, venue, promoter or supplier details you publish, including bios, images, contact details, tech packs and team members.
- Location data — the town, suburb or area you choose, and approximate map bounds used to show gigs near you.
- Event data — events you publish, save, view or click through to ticketing.
- Referral data — referral codes you share, invitations sent and sign-ups attributed to you.
- Gig Points data — points earned, streaks, challenges and redemptions.
- Connected-platform data — information you authorise us to read from platforms you connect, such as social or ticketing accounts.
- CRM data — contacts, notes and interactions recorded by Creator accounts.
- Payment and subscription information — plan, status and billing history. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by SeeMyGig.
- Technical data — device, browser, IP address, cookies and analytics events.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We collect personal information so we can provide the service you have asked for: showing you relevant gigs, running your profiles and events, delivering notifications you opt into, awarding Gig Points, processing subscriptions, keeping the platform safe and improving how it works.
We only use your information for the purposes described here, purposes you would reasonably expect, or purposes you have consented to.
Location data
Location is used to sort and filter gigs near you. We store the area you choose rather than a precise personal location, and we never publish a user's precise personal location on a profile, map or leaderboard. Venue and event locations are published because they are public event details.
Creator CRM data
Personal data collected or stored through Creator CRM tools must remain scoped to the relevant Creator profile and authorised managers.
For example: a fan following one artist does not automatically become visible as a CRM contact to unrelated venues, bands, promoters or suppliers.
- Creator profile permissions
- Role-based access
- Membership entitlements
- Consent settings
- Applicable privacy requirements
CRM access must respect each of the controls listed above.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and understand how the platform is used. Analytics data is aggregated and used to improve the service.
Email notifications
We send service emails you cannot opt out of while you hold an account — for example confirmations, receipts, security notices and important policy updates.
Marketing emails such as gig guides, offers and promotions are separate and optional. You can change them any time in Settings → Notifications & Privacy.
SMS communications
If you opt in, we may send SMS gig guides and alerts. SMS marketing is always optional, never pre-selected, and can be switched off in your settings.
Third-party processors
We use trusted providers to run SeeMyGig, including hosting and database services, Stripe for payments, email and SMS delivery providers, mapping providers, and analytics tools. Providers only receive the information they need to perform their role.
Data security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions and row-level security in our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Access and correction
You can view and correct most information directly in your profile and settings. You can also request a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct it, from Settings → Privacy & Legal or by contacting us.
Account deletion and data retention
You can request account deletion at any time. We remove or de-identify personal information unless we are required to retain it for financial records, fraud prevention, moderation evidence, legal obligations or event integrity. Where data is retained, we minimise and restrict it.
Complaints and contact
If you have a privacy question or complaint, contact us at hello@seemygig.com. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
